O’Reilly calls Harris’ candidacy ‘shaky,’ criticizes her record

by

(NewsNation) — Conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly predicts that Vice President Kamala Harris will face significant challenges in her presidential campaign, citing her record and potential media strategy.

During a Monday interview on NewsNation’s “On Balance,” O’Reilly characterized Harris as “very shaky” and her candidacy as vulnerable.

After President Joe Biden announced he would not seek reelection in the 2024 presidential race, Harris is widely seen as the most likely Democratic candidate to take his place.

Harris vs. Trump vs. RFK Jr.: How policies compare

The latest polling average from Decision Desk HQ puts GOP candidate former President Donald Trump at 42.6%, Harris at 36.9% and independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at 5.8%.

“She’s been a terrible vice president, hasn’t accomplished anything,” O’Reilly said. “She was a terrible senator. For years, no legislation passed at all.”

O’Reilly suggested that Harris will rely heavily on media support and avoid tough interviews. He predicted she would “coast” and only appear in controlled settings, saying, “You will not see Kamala Harris on your program.”

The former Fox News host also speculated about Harris’ debate strategy against Trump, suggesting she might attempt to provoke him into making controversial statements.

O’Reilly advised Trump to focus on policy issues to win, stating, “If Donald Trump just stays on the issues, Trump will wax her.”

Regarding campaign fundraising, O’Reilly expressed skepticism about reported numbers, claiming they are difficult to verify until later in the election cycle.

In total, Harris’ team raised more than $81 million in the 24 hours since Biden’s announcement, campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz said Monday.

The commentator also highlighted Harris’s stance on abortion as a potential weakness, describing it as “about as extreme as you could possibly” get.

O’Reilly concluded by emphasizing the importance of Trump avoiding “mud” slinging and focusing on policy proposals to improve the country.
