(The Hill) — President Joe Biden on Thursday said that former President Trump “should get a life” amid false claims from Trump and his allies about the federal response to the recent hurricanes.
“Mr. President Trump, former President Trump, get a life man, help these people,” Biden said in remarks on Hurricane Milton from the White House.
Biden was questioned if he has spoken to Trump about spreading misinformation and responded, “Are you kidding me?”

The president said that the “public will hold (Trump) accountable,” adding that the press will do so as well because “you know the truth.”
And, when questioned if he plans to speak with Trump directly, he replied an emphatic “no.”
Biden specially called out a claim from Trump that those impacted by the storm are only receiving $750 in government assistance.
“That $750 that they’re talking about, Mr. Trump and all those other people know that’s a lie to suggest that’s all they’re going to get. That’s bizarre. It’s bizarre,” the president said. “You’ve got to stop this. I mean they’re being so damn un-American with how they’re talking about this stuff.”
Biden has called for Trump and his allies, including Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., to stop spreading misinformation in the wake of Hurricanes Helene and now Milton. He also gave two speeches from the White House on Wednesday to try to combat misinformation.
Milton made landfall late Wednesday along Florida’s Gulf Coast. The deadly storm surge led to flooding and millions of Floridians experiencing power outages.
