(The Hill) – Former President Trump is quickly capitalizing on his campaign stop in battleground Pennsylvania over the weekend, where he worked at a drive-thru at a McDonald’s, by selling T-shirts marking the event.
The shirt features a photo of the GOP nominee leaning out a drive-thru window, waving with text that reads “MAGADonald’s.”

“I have a McGift for you!” Trump’s campaign store website says. “I am the first and only 2024 presidential nominee to work at McDonald’s.”
Trump donned an apron and stepped behind the counter at a McDonald’s in Bucks County, Pa., on Sunday. He worked the drive-thru and fry cooker as part of a campaign photo op after mocking Vice President Harris for saying she worked at the fast food chain while in college.
Harris’s campaign has looked to use her past experience as an appeal to middle class voters, but the former president has countered her claims.
On his fundraising website, Trump also took a swing at Harris over inflation under the Biden administration.
“Thanks to Kamala, prices for a meal are through the roof! I will Make America Affordable Again, but I’m going to need your help to do it,” the site said.
Trump’s love of fast food is well known. He’s been photographed eating from McDonald’s on his campaign plane, and in office he served items from the chain, Wendy’s and Burger King to college athletes who visited the White House.

He made a point on Sunday to say he has now worked “15 minutes more than Kamala” and added that he would be working the french fry stand — which is what Harris said she did while employed by the restaurant.
Harris’s campaign criticized Trump’s actions as a publicity stunt. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, also accused the former president of disrespecting McDonald’s workers by “cosplaying” as an employee.
McDonald’s says it doesn’t endorse political candidates after Trump visit
After Trump’s visit to the Bucks County franchise, McDonald’s sought to emphasize its political neutrality and said it does not endorse political candidates. Trump’s request to visit the restaurant was handled locally by the franchise.
Trump has also attempted to capitalize on other political events. He released a shirt of his mug shot last year after he surrendered to authorities in Georgia for his election-related legal battle.
