(NewsNation) — One startup has provided an alternative solution to combatting stolen delivery packages.
While they cannot stop packages from being stolen, PorchPals is a company now offering subscription-based insurance for stolen delivery orders.
PorchPals launched nationwide Monday and costs $120 per year, covering up to $2,000 in stolen packages or three claims annually. Monthly billing has a rate of $15.
“The porch has become the hub of the house and the primary interface for our online consumption habits,” PorchPals founder James Moore said in a release.

“We created PorchPals to provide the services and tech needed so consumers across the country can have a safer and more fulfilling online shopping experience,” he added.
While Amazon may have a near-monopoly regarding online delivery, PorchPals covers all online retailers and purchases. As such, users link their credit or debit cards to PorchPals to ensure protection.
Reimbursement occurs within 72 hours of filing a claim.
