Melania Trump to debut documentary film on Amazon in 2025

WASHINGTON – A documentary film about former and future First Lady Melania Trump has been exclusively licensed to Prime Video, Amazon announced Sunday.

In a statement to NewsNation, the streaming service touted the project as giving “viewers an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look” at President-elect Donald Trump’s 54-year-old, Slovenian-born wife.

A spokesperson added: “We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world.”

Set to receive a theatrical and streaming release in the second half of 2025, the documentary marks a new endeavor for Melania, who will serve as both subject and executive producer. Filming began in December, weeks after her husband was elected to a second term in the White House.

After the 45th president lost to President Joe Biden in the 2020 election, his wife remained an enigmatic figure, mostly retreating from the public eye. Yet in October, she reemerged with a memoir titled “Melania,” which she called a “deeply personal and reflective journey.”

“As a private person, who has often been the subject of public scrutiny and misrepresentation, I feel a responsibility to clarify the facts,” she said at the time. “I believe it is important to share my perspective – the truth.”

The documentary will also mark the return of director Brett Ratner, who was accused of sexual harassment and misconduct at the peak of the #MeToo movement by six women in a 2017 Los Angeles Times story. Ratner – who directed the “Rush Hour” film series and “X-Men: The Last Stand” – vehemently denied the accusations, and no criminal charges were brought.
