Kash Patel, President Trump’s controversial nominee to head the FBI, will face senators Thursday morning during a confirmation hearing.
Patel, who is testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, has held numerous national security roles in the past and regularly attacks the “deep state” for what he believes weaponizes the government for “their own political and personal agenda.”
Critics on both sides of the aisle have questioned Patel’s ability to handle the high-profile job, painting the fierce Trump ally as someone who is out for revenge.
The confirmation hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST.
