LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – During the last week of January, four people were killed in Little Rock.
One victim was 19-year-old Anthony Jakob White who was shot and killed on Labette Manor Drive at the Westbridge Apartments, leaving his mother, Meagan Poe, shattered.
She is speaking out hoping to prevent another person from feeling her pain.
“I should’ve never buried my kid,” Poe said with teary eyes.

It’s been over 2 weeks since White was killed, and his mom still hadn’t found the strength to visit the scene.
“It destroyed my family,” she said.
Poe said detectives told her that her son was on Facebook Marketplace selling a pair of shoes, which is what led him to Labette Manor Drive.
“He got killed for no reason,” Poe cried.

Poe said her son Jakob wasn’t familiar with the Little Rock area.
She encourages people that no matter where or what the situation is, especially if it involves someone you do not know, to know before you go.
“Meet in a well-lit area with a police station preferably. Let people know where you are going and what you are doing, who you are going to see,” Poe said. “Do whatever you got to do because you could be another number. I don’t want another parent to have to bury their child or feel what I have to feel.”
Little Rock police have arrested two juveniles in connection to this case and charged them as adults for capital murder.
