Harris’ Fox interview a bigger risk for Bret Baier: Bill O’Reilly

by

(NewsNation) — Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly predicts Vice President Kamala Harris faces significant risks in her upcoming Fox News interview, but says interviewer Bret Baier potentially has even more to lose.

Speaking on NewsNation’s “On Balance,” O’Reilly said Harris “has not articulated any problem solving solutions” on key issues including border security and inflation. He suggested the interview with Baier could be perilous if Harris fails to directly address questions.

“If he just goes there and let her wander into, ‘I was brought up in a middle class home’ and ‘the border, it’s Trump’s fault,’ if he allows that, he’s put his career on the line,” O’Reilly said of Baier.

O’Reilly mentioned former President Donald Trump‘s criticism of Baier as “soft,” but believes Baier needs to be more confrontational in the interview.

Comparing the situation to his 2008 interview with then-Sen. Barack Obama, O’Reilly emphasized the importance of follow-up questions. He noted that Obama, whom he described as “1,000 times more articulate than Kamala Harris,” benefited from the Fox appearance during a tight race with John McCain.

Regarding current polls showing Trump leading, O’Reilly expressed caution: “Not confident at all,” he said, referencing his incorrect prediction of a “red wave” in the 2022 midterms.

O’Reilly estimated Trump is leading by “about two points” but added uncertainty about how Trump will present himself in the final weeks of the campaign.
