(The Hill) — Radio host Charlamagne tha God critiqued Vice President Harris’s choice of Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) as a running mate in a Friday discussion on his show The Breakfast Club.
“I don’t think he’s garbage, you know what I’m saying? But it’s just like I don’t see the impact,” he said.
When his co-host Loren LoRosa suggested that Walz “be chilling,” Charlamagne fired back by stating voters need to see him on the frontlines.

“We don’t need that now. We don’t need you chilling Walz. Okay we need you on the frontlines, okay,” he told listeners.
“You need a white man that excites other white people. I don’t know if he’s that white person doing that,” the host added.
In recent weeks, polling has shown Walz trailing Trump’s vice presidential pick in terms of voters’ perceptions of masculinity. Thirty-eight percent of voters see Vance as being “completely masculine,” compared with 27 percent for Walz.

The Hill/Decision Desk HQ polling shows Walz with 42.9% favorability while Vance has a 41.3% rating among voters.
