Former President Trump took a slight detour from his battleground state swing Saturday afternoon, giving remarks to supporters in Virginia.
Trump is expected to target Vice President Harris over inflation, housing prices, and immigration, while arguing that the Biden administration has turned Virginia into a “border state,” according to the campaign. The stop also comes as early voting is set to end in the state.
The visit also follows a Supreme Court decision Wednesday that gave Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) and election officials the ability to cancel more than 1,600 voter registrations, which the state claimed were held by noncitizens. Youngkin endorsed the former president earlier this year.
With just days left until the election, the GOP presidential nominee is trailing Harris by half a point — 45 percent to 50 percent — according to The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index.
Trump’s remarks in Salem, Va., are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. EDT.
