Trump’s communication led to second presidency: Sam Donaldson

by

(NewsNation) — Legendary news anchor Sam Donaldson believes President Donald Trump’s communication skills were key to his return to the White House.

Donaldson joined “NewsNation Now” to discuss Trump’s second term in the Oval Office and his inauguration speech Monday.

“I think President Trump is president again because of his ability to be a great communicator,” Donaldson said.

“Ronald Reagan, great communicator; Franklin Roosevelt, great communicator; and Donald J. Trump, great communicator, if you like the communication that you’re getting from him.”

Donaldson suggested some of what Trump said Monday highlighted the starkest departure from the previous administration since Herbert Hoover and Franklin Roosevelt.

“The business about declaring that the two sexualities represented by his administration would be male and female doesn’t make the big difference to the country’s future,” Donaldson argued, regarding Trump’s assertion only two genders would be recognized in official government policy.

“It makes a difference to the few Americans who are being marginalized, of course, out of existence by his words,” Donaldson added.

During his speech, Trump said, “As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female.”
