DENVER (KDVR) — A Denver beer spa, where people can drink beer and soak in a beer bath, is opening a new location.

The idea for Oakwell Beer Spa started in the founders’ New York apartment, where Jessica and Damien Zouaoui would brainstorm business plans after they got home from their jobs. Eventually, they made a pact to quit their jobs, travel the world and not return until they came up with the perfect business, according to Oakwell’s website.

After over a year of trying out the oddest experiences the pair could find across 25 counties, with anything from hedgehog cafes to real-life Mario Kart racing in Tokyo, the couple found their business after visiting a beer spa in a mountain town in Poland.

The couple moved to Denver in 2019 and built Oakwell Beer Spa, which consists of a taproom with Colorado-based beers, a relaxation lounge and a beer therapy room with a beer bath, an infrared sauna and a rain shower with beer infused shampoo and conditioner. While the bath and other amenities are infused with beer, it’s not what comes out in a glass, it’s the hops.

After a few years in business, the spot in the Five Points neighborhood is expanding into another Colorado area.

The spa said it’s planning on opening up a second location at 6660 Timberline Road near Highlands Ranch.

The spa said the new location will have some interior differences, but it will be the same concept, involving a spa, hot tub and of course, beer.

The spa is still under construction and the exact opening date isn’t pinned down just yet, but the spa said it plans to open its second location sometime in the spring.
